Lots of research work is giving me real tough time, without wasting a minute I opened Google.com and was unconsciously expecting a Christmas logo as only few days are left.
Google occasion’s logo always energizes me with new concepts and trends. In the 2008, total 34 logos have been officially displayed which included thanksgiving, veteran’s day, summers games in Beijing and exclusively 10th birthday of Google.
Back to the story, with the thought of Christmas new logo I excitingly rolled my eyes but there was a HOLIDAY LOGO 2008 sticking to the Google. What? I checked the date twice to assure myself that yes Christmas is in few days. That was shocking in the first glance, indeed.
But I want you to realize the conceptual theme behind these doodles, what do you see there? A family picture ehh? Father is busy in decorating while the little daughter is enjoying the helping session. They are having holidays, they have some time to share happiness with the family and as the Christmas is on head so dad and little daughter is embellishing Google with stuff. It shows the family connection with Google in the holidays while busy in Christmas’ preparation. They actually linked up the Christmas festivity with the Google which is again an unconventional way because usually people decorate Christmas trees, garnish it with colorful buntings and beautiful balls and this time they gave an entirely new concept to decorate Google in Christmas celebrations.
Google is a technological icon but it understands the human relationships and feelings. It believes in the societal and collective form of people where people are needed to be connected for the survival thus the logo has been designed in the way.
These doodles depict that father and child relationship is beautiful and different. Whole year father gets busy in the financial wheel of work and this Christmas holidays they need to share tiny-miny happiness, may be a long drive, or a visit to amusement park and the most enjoyable inventing or decorating stuff. That you can see in the doodles.
Initially I was shocked by the holiday’s logo, but now I understood the 3 in 1 concept designed in a Google Holiday logo 2008.
